HAPPY COOKING!!
Ingredients
- 1 kg Sirloin steak (you can use any kind of steak)
- 1/2 cup corn starch - available in supermarkets
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoon hoisin sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 cup water
- 2 or 3 green onions chopped
- Dhania
Instructions
Slice the steak into thin strips, place the corn flour in a bowl and add the steak, toss making sure all the meat is well coated. Shake off excess. Place in the fridge for 10 minutes to ensure the flour sticks to the steak.
In a pan, put some of the oil add the soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, hoisin sauce garlic, ginger, and water and stir. Cook over medium heat until reduced and thick. This should be about 20mins
While that thickens, heat the remaining oil in a pan and brown the steak taking care not to over cook the meat. I did this in 2 batches.
Add the meat to the sauce and stir well. Cook through for about 3 minutes toss in the dhania and garnish with the green onions
